Recently, there has been a proliferation of fraudulent announcements for the Kenyan Public regarding job offers in Turkey. Fraudsters disseminate information using internet services, emails and social mediaand usingnames of prestigious institutions such as Turkish Ministry of National Education and HSBC Bank-Turkey. They direct target audiences to the following website: www.turkeyimmigrationservices.tkThe said website does not carry Turkish internet domain suffix (.tr) and as such is not published from Turkey. They request payments through money transfer services for official procedures.

Kenyans can seek employment in Turkey only ifthey have officially issued work visas from the Turkish Embassy in Nairobi. No other agency or institution has the authority to issue work visas other than Turkish Embassies abroad. Work visa application procedures and fees are explained thoroughly on Turkish Embassy website and on the e-consulate service: http://www.konsolosluk.gov.tr/ke/tr/start.aspxAll visa fees are payable only in cash to the Turkish Embassy in Nairobi and official receipts should be issued by the Consular section. Money transfer clients (i.e. Western Union, Moneygram)other than Kenyan Banks are never used in official transactions.
