No: 249, 23 September, 2013, Press Release on the Terrorist Attack Perpetrated in Nairobi
Unofficial translation
We have learned with deep regret that according to the latest information 68 people were killed and 175 people were injured as a result of the terrorist attack claimed by the El Shabab organization, perpetrated on 21 September 2013 in a shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya.
May God’s grace be upon the souls of those who lost their lives. We present our condolences to the Government and people of Kenya and wish for a speedy recovery of those injured.
Republic of Turkey, opposed terrorism in all its forms, strongly condemns this attack. Such terrorist attacks aim to damage the efforts of the people and Government of Somalia towards nation- and peace-building and Somalia’s relations with its neighbours.
We would like to reiterate on this occasion that we stand in solidarity with the friendly and brotherly people of Kenya.
